Can I Use My FSA or HSA for WeightCare’s GLP-1 Medications?

Depending on your specific plan, prescription weight loss medications may qualify for coverage through your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA). We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm eligibility and understand any copay or out-of-pocket costs prior to starting with WeightCare.


What’s the Difference Between an FSA and an HSA?
• FSA (Flexible Spending Account): Funds expire at the end of the year, so be sure to use them before December 31.
• HSA (Health Savings Account): Funds roll over annually, making them a great option for long-term health expenses.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. Our team of licensed physicians are trained in weight loss and are able to prescribe weight loss medications via telemedicine.

How do refills work?

Monthly program- One month after your initial purchase, you'll be charged our regular price of $499 a month, which covers all doses ( up to 15mg/week). Once charged, you'll receive a refill questionnaire, and you can let your doctor know if you want to lower your dose, stay at the same dose, or increase your dose. You will always receive a notification 7 days before an upcoming charge.


3 Month program -3 months after your initial purchases you'll be charged for a 3 month refill at the a rate of $450 a month ($1,350 total), which covers titrating up to the highest doses. Once charged, you'll receive a refill questionnaire, and you can let your doctor know you're doing. You will always receive a notification 7 days before an upcoming charge.

How does shipping work?

All prescriptions are shipped and filled from an accredited US pharmacy.

Your medication is shipped in a small box with ice packs and should arrive within 7-9 business days from the time your prescription is written.

Shipping confirmation and tracking will be provided. Please keep up to date on your package's tracking so you can refrigerate the medication upon arrival.

2- Once you've paid for the first month of the program, you'll answer some questions about your health history and weight loss goals.

A board certified physician will review your medical questionnaire and connect with you through our telehealth platform.

3 - Once your physician approves you for the program, you'll be notified and your medication will be shipped directly to your door.

What are GLP-1s and how do they work?

GLP-1 receptor agonists work by delaying gastric emptying. When your stomach takes more time to digest food, it sends signals to your brain that you’re full. What happens if my WeightCare doctor decides that I'm not a candidate for the medication?

If you are deemed a non-candidate for a particular weight loss treatment by your assigned WeightCare physician, you will be refunded in full.

What if I need a higher dose?

Semaglutide & Tirzepatide Weight Loss Program

- If you need to increase to a higher dose, you will need to let your physician know during your monthly check-in.

-There are no price increases as you go up in dose each month under our standard plans.

What If My FSA/HSA Doesn’t Cover My Medications?
